Emperor
An emperor is a ruler of a dynasty and also a ruler of a country. The emporer has the ultimate power over the people that are in his region.
Civil Servants
The Civil Servents were the most important class exept for the Emperor. Most were in the goverment position in the parliment house. To be with the govermment you have to pass an exam but the thing is you have to be male. You have to got to the Imperial Academy to take the exam. You do not have to be related to be a Civil Servant. Everyone wanted to work with the goverment. Peasants
Most people were farmers also known as peasents to them agruculture was very important. They tended to crops and planted rice, wheat and millet. To plough the feilds they had to do it by hand. They used donkeys to carry loads and raised chickens and pigs.
Artisans
They made porcelin objects to use all around the place. The Artisans were famous for silk. Most of the silk was exported to Rome and to Europe for clothes and used to paint on. Back themn and right now silk is very expensive it is strong, light weight and very soft.
Merchants
The Merchants were the lowest class on the social structure. They were not allowed to puchase houses they did not grow anything and so they had no purpose. They were treated very harshly by the goverment. The goverment seemed to tax the heavly.
The Role of Women
Women were expected to obey fathers, husbands and adult sons.Some females worked on farms beside men or wove clothes to sell at markets and for children. Women were unable to go to school or become civil servants and many women had influential positions in the imperial court.
